Awash Insurance Company's rules and guidelines on claim handling sets out responsibilities when handling claims. It places responsibilities on the company for ensuring that:
- Claims are handled fairly; claims are settled promptly;
- Customers are provided with information on the claims handling process, and with an explanation of why a claim is rejected or not settled in full, etc.
Requirements from customers at the time of claim:

| Motor Claim |
- The claim form should be completed and duly signed by both insured and driver. ( Click here to download Claim Form)
- The driver's license should be presented for checking.
- Traffic police report should be submitted as soon as possible.
- The applicable excess/deductible should be settled.
- The outstanding premium should be settled.
- Contributions should be settled.
- Salvages should be returned.

Documents required for prompt claim settlement:
- For Damaged/Missing cargo
- Notify claim in writing
- Original Marine Policy
- Original Commercial Invoice
- Original Bill of lading or Airway Bill
- Packing List
- Preliminary survey report
- Notification of arrival of the carrier/delivery order
- Customs declaration
- For shortlanded cargo
- Original Marine Policy
- Original Bill of lading
- Original Commercial Invoice
- Packing list
- Notification of arrival of the carrier/delivery order
- Missing package confirmation for air cargo
- For any damage/loss during Inland Transit
- Truck way bill and
- Police report in addition to the documents mentioned under No. 1 above.
Note: Whenever carriers or bailees are liable for the loss occured to cargos the assured or agents must lodge letter of protest or claim against the liable party in writing and submit copy to us.

Claims settlement is subject to the following
- The applicable excess/deductible should be paid
- Outstanding premium should be paid
- Salvage should be returned to the Company.
