 AIC MOVES TO AWASH TOWERS

Awash Insurance Company s.c. moved to its new headquarters building, Awash Towers, on march 1, 2011.

AIC housing in sixteen storey building will provide its quality insurance services through its 28 Non-Life underwriting branches including Main branch and Life branch occupying the ground floor.

As it could be recalled, the sister companies’ (AIB and AIC) inaugurated ultra-modern headquarters building, “THE AWASH TOWERS”, on Saturday November 6, 2010, located in the commercial hub of the metropolis on Ras Abebe Aregay Street.

The Awash Towers ground breaking was five years back in 2006, and was designed by Metaferia Consult in collaboration with a Finland partner David Con and it was constructed by Luigi Varnero Impresa Costruzional Plc. The towers were built on a 3000 plus Sqm plot of land at cost of over 215 million birr.

The headquarters building is featured with superb office layouts, board rooms, meeting rooms, training center and many other administration offices. In addition, the building accommodates facilities like an executive restaurant for the staff on the 14th floor and a cafeteria on the 6th floor. The fountain sinuous on the ground floor delivers mental peace.

The towers are twin in structure basing on common ground and splitting on the upper stage of the Ground floor. However, they are connected on the 6th, 10th and 14th floors all adding beauty to the ultra modern building complex of the twins.

Various facilities; parking, electric power generator, IT server, various tankers with the capacity to contain thousands of litters of water, transformers, and data center are very few to mention among many utilities and services installed in the basements.

The entrances and exits of the tower housing AIC are characterized by their technological advancement. The staircases are built in a way they could accommodate emergency exits and on each floor there are two staircases on two different sides. In addition, four parallel elevators are transporting customers at high safety and speed.

Concerning emergency, fire alarms, fire hydrants and fire extinguishers are built-in for emergency on each and every floor. And the sewerage and underground water drainage system of the building is connected with the main sewerage system of the City.
